General Tool Usage: Database Diagram
The database diagram tool is a DSL-based ER diagram creation tool designed for full privacy and local operation. All parsing and display of the diagram occur within your browser, ensuring that your data remains secure. Here’s a guide to effectively using this tool:
Real-Time Diagram Rendering:
- As you type the syntax in the code editor on the left-hand side, the diagram is rendered in real-time on the screen.
- If there are syntax errors, an orange toast message will appear at the bottom of the code editor, indicating the issue.
Zooming:
- To zoom in or out, simply place the mouse pointer on the diagram and use the scroll wheel.
Panning:
- Drag the diagram canvas to pan to different areas.
Moving Objects:
- You can move tables by clicking on the table name header and dragging them to rearrange. The relationship lines will automatically adjust accordingly.
Unlimited Tables:
- There is no limitation on the number of tables, allowing you to fit large data models without any issues.
Exporting Diagrams:
- You can export the diagrams to PNG or PDF format.
- The entire diagram will be exported, regardless of what is displayed in the viewable area of the screen. This ensures that even if you have a large number of tables, they will be included in the export without any issues.
Using this tool, you can create detailed and complex ER diagrams efficiently while maintaining the privacy and security of your data.
